A couple of times the idea of renting some of the gear necessary for MSH has come up.
Backpacks, Ice Axes , etc.
Where can these be rented at?
P.S. I'm not mentioning any names but has anybody thought of the danger of exhausted people armed with ice axes :-) I am not afraid of much but this has me thinking :-)

REI is what I hear from other folks on renting equipment.
portland has a big REI store near downtown.
